Who we are
A small shop that takes its time.
Lakeshore Ammunition is a reloading shop in Coeur d’Alene, in the Idaho panhandle. We take fired brass, bring it back to spec, and load it into ammunition that shoots as consistently as factory new, at a price that lets you shoot more of it.
Our reloaded brass is cleaned and polished. Each round is visually inspected, not once but twice, by people who take pride in the work. From start to finish we hold ourselves to standards higher than most, because our customers deserve nothing less.
We are proud to stand for quality, reliability and the hardworking spirit that defines this country. We do not just make ammo. We take care of our people, one round at a time.
How it’s made
Six steps. No shortcuts.
Every case that leaves this shop started life somewhere else. This is what happens to it in between.
01Sorted
Fired brass comes in mixed. It gets sorted by headstamp first, so a batch is one case, one volume, one pressure curve. The match loads run Lake City only.
02Cleaned and sized
Wet tumbled with stainless pins until it is bright, then resized, the spent primer knocked out, the mouth trimmed and chamfered. Every case, every time.
03Pressure tested
All brass is pressure tested for safety and reliability before a grain of powder goes near it.
04Loaded
Primed, charged, seated. Same recipe, same components, batch after batch. That is where the tight velocity spread comes from.
05Inspected twice
Two-stage visual inspection by people who do this every day. Anything that does not pass does not ship.
06Polished and boxed
Every round polished before packaging. It should look as good as it shoots.
What that buys you
Same headstamp. Same case volume. Tighter spread.
Matched headstamps mean uniform case volume. Uniform case volume means a tighter velocity spread. A tighter spread is what puts rounds in the same hole at distance, and it is the whole reason to buy reloaded from someone who inspects twice instead of once.
Pressure tested
Every batch of brass is pressure tested before it is loaded.
Twice inspected
Two-stage visual inspection. Anything that does not pass does not ship.
Then polished
Every round polished before it is packaged.
